This is a letter that I feel that I have to write. How many people of this present generation, the generation being sent to war, know the truth about the Palestinian question ? The question started in 1948 not 67 or 72. How many of them know that Menachem Begin, the ex Premier of Israel, was, in his absence tried, and condemned to death by British Courts, for the terrorist murder of numerous British soldiers, by bomb and bullet ? And, that his organization was funded by the USA ? Was he, and the other known terrorists tried for war crimes after the creation of Israel ? What right do the Jewish people have, to settle on Arab soil, after an absence of 2,000 years, push out the native population, the Palestinians, and call it Israel ? Would you allow the Italians to lay claim to our country, because it used to be part of the Roman Empire ? That is the time period that we are talking about. The Palestinians know the answers to all of these questions, and many more. The younger generation, who are being sent to war, do not know what questions to ask, but are being sent by an older generation, who do. It makes me sick. In the Arab world, the USA is often called the great Satan, the younger generation know that, but they don't know how the USA got that name. We have all heard of the powerfull "Jewish Lobby" in the USA. I find it significant, that Britain, and the USA alone refused to discuss the 'whole region' in order to avert war. The Arabs are not stupid people, and will never accept Western pressure regarding Israel.
If we do not start to discuss the correct topics, then the Saddams of this world will revisit, and revisit, and revisit, with God knows what sort of consequences.

"Trial by jury would have to be phased out, to be replaced by a single judge sitting alone. Jack Straw’s recent attempts to get legislation through Parliament reducing those cases where an accused can demand trial by jury, should be seen as the start of this process. In addition a Home Office report has recommended that lay magistrates should be replaced by stipendiary (i.e. professional paid) magistrates, another measure that clearly fits in with the Corpus Juris plan. In both cases the government claims the measures are simply in the interests of efficiency and cost effectiveness, which is very misleading. The involvement of ordinary people in the judicial process as magistrates and jurors is fundamental to our system and goes back hundreds of years - it is designed to protect the citizen against the risk of arbitrary or malicious prosecution, and is a healthy feature in any democracy.Corpus Juris would also introduce detention without trial, since under this continental system, a person suspected of an offence can be arrested and held in custody for a period of six months or more, pending such further investigations and enquiries as the public prosecutor sees fit, before being brought before a court. This is radically different from our own system of Habeas Corpus (which has its origins as far back as Magna Carta of 1215), whereby an accused person must be brought before a court within a very short period of arrest, and evidence against the arrested person produced.Furthermore, our current system incorporates the rule against double jeopardy, whereby an accused person once acquitted cannot be brought before a court again for the same offence. The government has proposed that this shall be removed – perhaps reasonable in certain very carefully defined instances, but the proposal must be seen as a further part of the introduction of Corpus Juris."

In the 2008 London Mayoral elections, there were "allegedly" 460,000 spoilt ballot papers, and thus NOT counted.

My own political journey started with my perfectly innocent protest letter at the 1991 Gulf War.
To this day, I still do not understand why I have been made to pay such a terrible price for such a common place activity ?
Lots of people objected to that war, just as they objected to the 2003 Iraq war.
At the time of the 1991 Gulf War it was my firm belief that we had gone to war to hide the truth about the 'Palestinian Question' from the younger generation, and to remove a potential Arab threat to Israel, I still hold that view today.

Philip Zelikow, an advisor to president Bush, makes the same claim about the 2003 Iraq War. As do many other people.
