"The concept of envy — the hatred of the superior — has dropped out of our moral vocabulary …

The idea that white Christian civilization is hated more for its virtues than its sins doesn’t occur to us, because it’s not a nice idea. …

Western man towers over the rest of the world in ways so large as to be almost inexpressible.
It’s Western exploration, science, and conquest that have revealed the world to itself. Other races feel like subjects of Western power long after colonialism, imperialism, and slavery have disappeared.

The charge of racism puzzles whites who feel not hostility, but only baffled good will, because they don’t grasp what it really means: humiliation.
The white man presents an image of superiority even when he isn’t conscious of it.
And, superiority excites envy.

Destroying white civilization is the inmost desire of the league of designated victims we call minorities.

longlowboy   The Bespoke part of this order was for the cupboard to be on the left as viewed from the front. - Nothing Else. My Reviews are below.

Dear Gary / Country Ways Oak.

This page will remain in place untill you have delivered a new LongLowBoy that bears a credible likeness & colouring to the one displayed on your site, with only the requested customization of the cupboard on the left as viewed from the front. After this new LongLowBoy has been placed in my home and met with my approval, you may remove the one you delivered on Friday 28/09/18. Perhaps as a courtesy to compensate for previous shortcomings, you would care to match as close as possible to the wardrobe and 3 over 4 chest shown ? Links to these items on the manufacturers website are at the bottom of this page. It seems that this manufacturer and that of my Oak Bed, do not have a problem with displaying images on their websites that closely represent their products, nor do they seem to have a problem avoiding contrasting - conflicting - patchy wood grains.
Immediately upon completion of a satisfactory outcome, this page will be deleted.

Yours Faithfully
Sean Bryson

Mixed feelings but overall not impressed !
The quality of the build of their pine LongLow Boy is superb.
But that is where the good bits end, and they are being rather difficult and requesting more money to put things right.
Seeing is believing, to that end I have created this web page of images, and our recent email correspondence.
What do you think ?

Image 05 - The item delivered on Friday 28/09/18

Dear Sean
Thank you for your email.
Some of the images for that collection look as though they have been taken with very low mood lighting, and some haven’t.  They were supplied to us by the supplier of that range and have not been taken by us, if you see the white wall in the background it doesn’t look white.
The Mountfield collection doesn’t have a piece of furniture to the specifications you wanted so a one off bespoke piece was made for you.
We have sold many pieces and not had any problems with the finish so I am genuinely sorry that you are unhappy with it.  A waxed finish would give more colour variations than a sprayed lacquered finish which would be more of an even finish, there is no other finish apart from painted as standard in this range but it can be done as an option by us in our own workshop and the price for a special finish is £70.
Kind regards
Tina

Dear Tina,
Thank you for your reply.
I am not looking for an exact colour match.
It is reasonable for me to expect a good likeness to the item you displayed.
At the bottom of this email are two links that show two other items of furniture from another manufacturer.
Attached to this email are some images that show the items delivered to me. The Wardrobe and the 3 over 4 Chest of Drawers.
As you can see from these images, the colouring is pretty much what was displayed on their website.
The same is true of the Oak Bed, but I no longer have the link to that website.
You will notice that none of these items has a ‘Patchy Appearance’ How come they could manage it ?
You, are most certainly not cheap.
I see no reason why you should have delivered something so very different in terms of colouring and proportions to that which was advertised.
In short, it is not what you showed on your site and is not what I paid for.
It is a very different item.

The only Bespoke part of this deal was to have the cupboard on the left as viewed from the front.

Dear Sean
Thank you for your message.
As advised on Friday 28th September 2018, Gary is on annual leave, I believe your last email was sent to him directly and addressed to him hence I didn’t reply to it as I thought it was meant for him on his return. He is back in on Monday 8th October.
As per Gary’s emails the Long lowboy was made for you as a bespoke one off piece of furniture to the style of the Mountfield Long Lowboy.  The shelf is moveable and held in place with screws, but as this is not our usual method for a removable shelf I have contacted the factory and passed on your points of concern. They have offered to re-make the piece with an adjustable shelf, wider drawers (measurements to be supplied by Gary).
With regards to the finish/colour, the finish on the Long Lowboy you have is the only finish used on the pine pieces, if you do not want the standard Waxed pine finish as per the Long Lowboy then there is the option to have a special finish/colour match, this is an optional extra and would cost £70 inc vat.  We would require the name and make of the finish used on your existing furniture or a wooden sample to match to, if this is not possible we would be happy to provide up to two colour samples and would try to get near to the colour of your existing furniture from the photo, but this is a last resort, as I have already advised you from my 25 years of experience with handmade bespoke furniture,  it is very difficult, if not impossible to determine colour tone from a photo as photos do not give an accurate colour tone due to the variations in lighting, age of the piece of furniture and amount of wax/number of coats of wax it has received and even timber has variations in colour, so one can never guarantee an exact colour match even when using the same product.  Photos are purely to give an idea of colour.  For example if you look at the photo on the website of the Mountfield Tapered leg table you will see it looks very different than the photo of the Long Lowboy yet it is finished the same.
If none of the above is acceptable, we will arrange collection and once we have  received it here in an unused and undamaged condition we would offer you a refund
Kind regards
Tina

Dear Gary,
The LongLow Boy delivered Friday 28/09/18 does not have the design proportions and colouring, shown on your website.
On the day of delivery Friday 28/09/18, after I had had the item for a few hours, I provided a number of photographs that highlighted this.
I would like you to collect this item and replace it with a new LongLow Boy, with a more realistic likeness to the one that was shown on your site and that I naturally assumed would be delivered to me.
Leaving aside the different design proportions, like the ratio of Cupboard to Drawer, the Cupboard Door Frames, and the non-removable shelf, the item appears to be well constructed. Which makes it even more of a mystery as to why it has been so badly finished ?
There would appear to be at least 3 ‘Distinctive’ shades of contrasting waxing ? None of which, reflect the colouring shown on your website.
How on earth did this item get past your quality control people ?

Having read the terms on your site, I would say that it falls under the category of ‘8 Damaged or incorrect goods :’
8 Damaged or incorrect goods :
8.1 If we deliver incorrect or damaged goods, or you discover a manufacturing fault needing repair or replacement, then we must be notified within seven days from receipt of the goods. This can be by telephone but we must receive written confirmation explaining the nature of the damage or manufacturing fault within the seven day period following the initial delivery of your goods. To help us make the best decision in order to rectify any possible mistake or manufacturing defect the inclusion of one or more digital photographs to accompany your correspondence should also be sent to us.
8.2 We will not be liable for any damage caused by obvious misuse or by damage incurred by you or third parties attempting any repairs without our consent.

Please advise.

Dear Mr Bryson
Thank you for your message.
It is very difficult to judge a colour from a photograph and we do not recommend trying to colour match from a photograph as stains vary as does lighting.  The colour used on the lowboy would have been our standard pine finish as per the photo in the website it would just be that the lighting would change the colour such as warm bulbs or studio lighting.
We do offer a colour matching service to customers own furniture, this is an additional option and we quote per item.  We would normally ask for a colour sample, such as an existing drawer or name and make of stain used,  if that is not possible we can provide colour samples for you to select the nearest match.
Gary is off for a few days, I will put a note in his diary to contact you on his return.
Best regards
Tina

Dear Gary,
Your delivery drivers arrived just after 13:00 today Friday 28/09/18. Many thanks.
When you sent me an image of my completed LowBoy I did think that it looked a bit odd, but put it down to the image being taken in a bad light at an odd angle.
When the item arrived today I could see that it looked better than in the image you sent me, but it did still not look like the image from you website.
The proportion of cupboard to drawer space is different. The item delivered today is a 50/50 split, and the shelf is not removable.
What concerns me the most is the difference in colour between the item that was advertised, and the item delivered.
I have attached photographs to highlight this.
One of the biggest reasons for me to buy this product was that it’s colour would more or less match the colour of the rest of my pine bedroom furniture. But it does not.
If over time the LongBoy darkens, things will look even odder.
Having said all of the above, I am absolutely bowled over by the quality of the build. Properly looked after I am sure that it could become a Bona Fide Antique
Please advise.
